Athos Faccincani

Born in Paeschiera del Garda in 29/01/1951.

Even as a child devotes many hours to drawing and painting, but must be very careful and do it secretly, in the cellar, because the mother is deeply opposed to the practice of all that can be considered artistic. To do homework and study gets up at four in the morning because the afternoon, secretly and unaware of his parents, is devoted to art: does the small workshop of artists such as Guidi, Seibezzi, Novati; teachers who teach not only the various techniques of painting, but also convey the courage to pursue their passions and to believe in their talent. It is alongside them Athos understands that art can only be an integral part of his life, and he wants to become a painter.

After graduation Athos began to devote himself to painting full time, his early works of expressionist style often portray characters dark and bent by the weight of suffering. To deepen the study of the figure he enters the world of prisons, the marginalized and psychiatric hospitals. Athos unable to take up the suffering of others and to forward it to the canvas. The young artist starts selling his first works and to make his first exhibitions. It does not take long before someone notices the strength and the expressive intensity of his paintings and commissioned the most important jobs and offers more and more prestigious spaces to exhibit.

At the end of the 70 Athos it faces the most important work of his early career: he was commissioned an exhibition on the Resistance; its Personal receive the visit of the President Sandro Pertini who, impressed by the strength of the feelings that the Athos paintings they send and complimented for having represented the war without having taken a position, but to a man of extraordinary sensitivity, appointed him Knight of the Republic. This for the artist is a great confirmation from the business point of view, but from a human point of view is facing a period of internal crisis because they deal with so much pain and suffering it has troubled deep. The breaking point opens a new phase for the artist: deleted somber colors from his palette, and rediscovered the joy of living, he begins to paint looking at the world through the eyes of a child. It prefers landscapes that allow it to focus on the nature is generous and luxuriant. There is also a radical change in the style that becomes clear Impressionist derivation, using pure and vibrant colors to be repeated in every picture with the same guidelines: the light, the sun high, the simple tale. Not knowing his artistic past, his inspiration seems almost naive, pure, belonging to someone who in life has known only the beautiful. Actually Faccincani had all right way to get to know the ugliness of the world, but decided to counter them, and not play them, with his painting. In addition to a careful eye it does not escape that, despite the festive colors and countless flowers, her "gardens" always contain some dark corner.

With his painting Athos has enchanted audiences and critics, his works are finished in both Hollywood stars homes that the homes of those who have to draw on the savings to afford a Faccincani. He has exhibited, as well as in the most beautiful places in Italy, London, Vienna, Paris, Chicago, New York, Zurich, Madrid, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hamburg, Monaco, Tokyo, Monte Carlo, Sofia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
